How do I put together a suitcase?
You do not have to put together a complete suitcase, EVERY DONATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE no matter how big or small. However, if you would like to complete a suitcase see the list of items we include.
Tax deductible monetary donations
We welcome monetary donations as our volunteers often need to purchase suitcases or items that are not in stock, for them to be able to fill an order from Child Protection offices. Donations can be made through the website.
Running a Collection Drive
You can run a collection drive in your workplace, school, or group. It is entirely up to you regarding how you run this, whether it be a collection, for example just pj’s, or any item off the list, collecting items for a particular age group, working together to complete a suitcase, or donating the empty suitcases themselves. Please only new items. You can also contact us to find out the greatest need in your region. You will find each region’s individual Facebook page listed on our New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania pages.
Please contact us if you would like more information that you can print off/access to a PowerPoint presentation.
Spread the word of what we do
Share our pages on Facebook and Instagram, talk to friends and family.
Donating one or many items off our suggestions list
We welcome any individual items from our lists for any age/gender. Every single donation makes a difference.
Sponsorship
Tax deductible sponsorship helps us enormously with the underlying costs like storage facilities, shelving and containers, spaces for our volunteers to store/sort and pack the suitcases. And to have funds available for our volunteers to purchase any items not in stock. Email us if you are interested in sponsoring us.
Talking more positively about children living in foster care and out-of-home care.
Every child no matter their circumstances deserves to feel worthy of being loved, to feel safe, to know that they matter. Let’s remove the stigma surrounding ‘foster kids’ and treat them with the respect they deserve.
